He hand-throws his pieces and creates patterns through wax-resist methods, each varying slightly in shape and pattern.
Cardiff-based potter Jack Welbourne creates this jug in his studio, which is in a courtyard that is home to many makers. He studied pottery in Plymouth and has now been making pieces for 12 years. Hand-thrown from iron-bearing clay to a bellied shape, then finished with a tenmoku glaze. Each varies slightly in shape, pattern and glaze tone, from reddy brown through to black.
